It's the 4th of July!

Today is the 4th of July!  I love this holiday.  I have grown up in a family of war veterans.  My dad was in Vietnam and both of my grandfathers were in WWll.  And, the list goes on and on all the way to the beginning of America.  You can say patriotism is in my blood.  I love celebrating America and thanking those who protect it.  I also love fireworks.  As a child I remember my family getting together and all the dads and kids set off fireworks in front of our house.  I remember someone bringing a glass coke bottle to shoot rocket bottles in.  The bigger the better!  Actually I like pretty fireworks.  Well now days we sit out front of our house and watch the fireworks shot off from the fairgrounds.  My dad did get Grayson sparklers, smoke bombs and snap its.  He had a blast doing them last night after the firework show.  Cumming does a great job of celebrating the fourth.  There's a dance contest with music, food, bouncy houses July 3rd ending with fireworks.  Everyone wakes up the next morning and goes to the parade.  In fact Jeff and Grayson are there right now.  I am home with 2 month Gracie-Mae.  The parade is mostly steam engines and tractors.  The noise and the heat is too much for a baby despite all of the babies you will see there.  :)
So when I think of 4th of July I think of thanking a soldier, thanking another serviceman, fireworks, parades, heat, watermelon, American flags, family, corn dogs, crowds of sun burnt people.
This is a good year!  Trump is president and hopefully Troy will be mayor!  :)
